Vision
High quality results are the core philosophy of our business.

We constantly study our work and pursue the mastery of our trade. Our methods of work are highly manual and skill based - we do not use any computerized or automated equipment. We pride ourselves in knowing that we make everything we deliver to our clients and that there is a bit of our soul in every piece we create.

As a testament of our commitment to quality, most of our tools are fully reconditioned antiques from a time when woodworking was a core part of developing our country and economy. Most of these old machines were made of a very heavy grade of cast iron right here in Canada or the United States. Weighing at least double of what a competitive modern machine would weigh, the older machines are more steady, durable and vibration free. A steady and vibration free machine is essential to obtaining cuts that are more accurate, precise and chip-free. An antique saw combined with a new blade humbles any modern rival.

We seek to further our work and reputation to the point of national recognition as masters of our trade. We would like to set an example of what it means to commit one's life to something and contribute to making the world a better place.

Credentials
We take our craft very seriously. Fichman Furniture is certified by the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities to train, test and certify apprentices in the trade of Cabinetmaking. We are serious about what we do and use perfection as our standard of quality. As a certified and insured studio we train all of our cabinetmakers in house to further perfect our standard of quality.
