MEASUREMENTS
UNDERSTANDING
DIMENSIONS: All
of our measurements are in inches. The measurements you provide us
with are the interior of the radiator cover. Beyond the interior
dimensions you provide, the radiator cover's top has an overhang of
1" on all four sides (front, back, left and right) and the wood
we use is 3/4" thick. When confirming your order, the website
will provide you with three sets of measurements:
Interior
Dimensions: as you entered them
Overall
Dimensions: length, height and depth of the cover at its widest
points
Footprint: this will be how much floor space the radiator cover will require
In
some situations, you can request to not have an overhang, or to
shorten an overhang to make a radiator cover fit in a tight space.

LENGTH:
Measure
the overall length of your radiator including any valves and pipes.
Round this number up to the nearest inch, then add 2 inches. In the
example in Figure 1, the radiator is 48.25" long, so we will
round up to 49" and add 2 inches, giving a length of 51".
TIP:
Radiator covers look best when they are centered under a window.
Sometimes it's a good idea to order the cover a little longer than
your radiator to center it below the window.

HEIGHT:
Measure
from the floor up to the highest point of your radiator including any
valves and pipes. Round this number up to the nearest inch, then add
1 inch. In the example in Figure 2, the radiator is 36.75" in
height, so we will round up to 37" and add 1 inch, giving a
height of 38". This will be the interior height of your radiator
cover.

DEPTH:
Measure
from the front of your baseboard to the front of the radiator,
including any valves and pipes, round up and add one inch. In the
example in Figure 3, the radiator is 9.5" deep, so we will round
up to 10" and add 1 inch, giving a depth of 11".

OPTIONS and
UPGRADES
Options
will let you tailor the look of your radiator covers to match your
personal style and the look of your existing furniture and the
architectural character of your home. Certain options may increase
the price of your cover. Our online quoting tool will provide a
price breakdown of each radiator cover.

TOP
DETAIL
Multipanel
Top:
The
Multipanel top has panel openings in the top of the cover with the
same Panel Detail and Screen Pattern as selected for the rest of the
radiator cover. The Multipanel top is an especially important choice
for a radiator cover that will be under a window and sandwiched
behind a couch or other furniture.
Crown
Molding:
Crown
Molding is an inexpensive way to add a touch of class to the top of
the radiator cover.

Hutch:
New for 2010!! We now offer a hutch shelving option for our radiator covers! If you have a radiator that is on a wall, now you can use that space for valuable shelving, storage and display. The hutch is a great way to take advantage of what would normally be a difficult space to use. Our unique design allows you to space the shelves anywhere you like, and radiator covers longer than 24" have split shelves to give you unlimited flexibility. Measuring for a hutch couldn't be easier. All you need to know is the overall height you would like. Just measure from the floor to where you would like the top of the hutch to be (must be a minimum height of 10”). Never order a hutch that is the exact height of your ceiling because it will be nearly impossible to get it in place. Allow at least 5 inches of clearance to the ceiling. Covers ordered with crown molding will also have crown molding installed at the top of the hutch. Hutches will only fit radiators with a minimum depth of 7”.

PANEL
DETAIL
Our
panel detail options dress up the panel openings of the cover.
Applied
Panel Molding: The traditional style Applied Panel Moldings are
our most popular Panel Detail because they add so much elegance to
the radiator cover. The Applied Panel Molding is a solid wood
molding that our craftsmen custom fit to the radiator covers.
Recessed
Panel Profile: New for fall 2009! The Recessed Panel Profile is
a contemporary style Panel Detail. Our design team worked hard this
year to introduce a profile that is a great upgrade for clients who
want a simple and contemporary molding profile for their radiator
covers.

BASE
DETAIL
Rounded
Feet: Our unique rounded feet option adds a classic look to the
radiator cover. This is our most popular Base Detail option because
the Rounded Feet dress up the silhouette of the radiator cover and
show it as a piece of furniture.

Beading
Base: Our Beading Detail is an inexpensive touch of elegance to
the radiator cover.

SCREEN
PATTERN

Windsor:
The Windsor Pattern Screen is the most traditional screen we offer
constructed of high quality USA origin steel.
Grecian:

screen we offer constructed of high quality USA origin steel.
Mission:
The mission grill is a shaker style traditional grill pattern
constructed of wood.

PAINT
COLOR
We
paint our radiator covers with high quality industrial coatings that
result in a “baby skin” smooth and silky finish that you
would expect to find on a high quality piece of furniture. The
finish is extremely durable and difficult to scratch or stain under
normal household use. All of the finishes have a satin sheen.
White
(Benjamin Moore CC-10): Our white option is a clean white.
Cloud
White (Benjamin Moore CC-40): An interior designer favorite,
Cloud White has a shade of yellowy ivory to add a touch of warmth to
the color.
Space
Black (Benjamin Moore 2119-10): New for fall 2009! So many of
our interior designer and interior decorator clientele were
requesting Black for their radiator covers – we're now
introducing it as an option on our website! This is the perfect
color for a dark and modern look – recommended with our Grecian
Screen.
Primer
Only: Our primer option allows you to paint the cover in any
color you choose at home. The radiator cover will be primed by us in
our high quality primer. We then sand the primer to ensure the best
possible finish for you. As soon as you get the cover, you can put
your paint brush right to it! Our primer is compatible with latex or
oil based paints.
HEAT
REFLECTORS
New
for fall 2009! We have partnered with one of the world's
leading suppliers of Radiator Heat Reflectors!
If
your home was built before 1980 you are probably losing a significant
amount of heat through exterior walls. Not only is this a waste of
energy and money, it is bad for the environment!
Your
payback by installing our heat reflectors on all radiators that are against exterior walls is only 1 – 3
years. Rooms become dramatically more comfortable and typical savings are 10% - 18% or more per year on your energy bill!
NOTE:
Radiator
covers that are less than 7” - 9” deep may or may not
have panel openings on the sides depending on which options are
selected. To confirm, please contact us with your exact sizing and
options.
